I’m Anna. A junior full-stack software engineer with a background in education and culinary leadership, who loves to build things.

After graduating college in the esoteric fields of math and philosophy, I dove head first into the culinary world, working as a line cook and sous chef. I thrived building dishes with balance and complexity while running kitchens that were efficient and waste conscious. As a professional chef, I did the same tasks repeatedly every night, striving to do it incrementally better each time.

After 6 years in the food industry I went to graduate school and got a masters in education to teach Math in public schools. My math classroom focused on positive math identities, a belief that all students are mathematically brilliant, and collaboration. Problem solving within a group of diverse thinkers and experiences is one of my greatest passions! Combing through lines of code reminds me of combing through students’ problems sets; different approaches, different styles, creative work arounds. It is endlessly inspiring!

In between, I built a beautiful tiny house, became a parent, created a 2 mile forest trail, designed an indoor/outdoor bath house, and catered a 5 course meal for 50+ people! I am self-reliant, creative, and a capable builder/thinker who thrives working on a team on projects I care about.
